1. Purpose
These terms of use govern access to and use of the azogo.africa website and the Azogo app, published by Azogo, a subsidiary of DEUS FERREA (IFU 0202213830744, RCCM RB/ABC/22 A 82484). Using the service means accepting these terms.
2. Definitions
Customer: a person requesting a job. Artisan: an independent professional verified by Azogo who carries out jobs. Job: a request made by a customer and accepted by an artisan. Partner centre: a training centre bound to Azogo by an agreement.
3. Azogo’s role
Azogo is a matching platform. It sends requests to available artisans, verifies their profiles, secures payment and provides after-sales support. Jobs are carried out by the artisans, who work independently and under their own professional responsibility. Azogo is not the artisans’ employer.
4. Account
The service is for people aged 18 and over. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. An artisan only becomes active once the Azogo team has verified their documents.
5. Requests and job process
The customer describes their need (trade, problem, photos, address). The request goes to available artisans nearby; the first to accept carries out the job. For recurring services, the usual artisan may be notified first for a short time. Customers may book for a relative by naming the person on site.
6. Prices
Depending on the trade, the price is hourly (the artisan’s rate, with any night or urgent surcharges shown before confirmation) or by quote. A quote is valid for the period shown in the app; work only starts once the customer accepts it. Prices shown on the website are indicative starting prices.
7. Payment and commission
The customer pays at the end of the job, in cash, with their Azogo wallet or by Mobile Money. Azogo charges a commission on each job, paid by the artisan, at a rate communicated to the artisan and fixed at the time of payment. For cash payments, the commission is recorded as the artisan’s debt; above a threshold, their account may be suspended until settled.
8. Cancellation
A request can be cancelled in the app. Repeated or late cancellations, by customers or artisans, may lead to a loss of loyalty points and, in case of abuse, account suspension.
9. Azogo guarantee and after-sales
During the guarantee period shown on the completed job, the customer may open an after-sales case (recurring problem, unfinished work, poor result, damage, defective part). The artisan has 48 hours to offer a free return visit or give their account. Without a reply, or in case of refusal or dispute, the Azogo team decides. It may grant a refund, credited to the customer’s Azogo wallet; the corresponding share is then deducted from the artisan according to their responsibility.
10. Reviews and loyalty points
After each job, customer and artisan can rate each other. Reviews must be honest and respectful; Azogo may remove abusive reviews. Loyalty points are earned according to the scale shown in the app, may be converted under the applicable rules and have no value outside Azogo.
11. Prohibited conduct
It is prohibited to bypass the platform for a job found through Azogo (payment or contact outside the app), provide false information, impersonate anyone, harass or threaten another user, post unlawful content or disrupt the service. Such breaches may lead to account suspension or closure, without prejudice to legal action.
12. Liability
Azogo uses reasonable means to verify artisans and keep the service available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted service. The artisan is solely responsible for carrying out their jobs properly; Azogo acts under its guarantee and after-sales support as set out above. Azogo cannot be held liable for indirect damage or force majeure.
13. Suspension and account closure
You may delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Information & security). Azogo may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, unpaid debt or a risk to users’ safety.
14. Personal data
The processing of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
15. Changes to the terms
Azogo may change these terms. Users are informed of significant changes; continued use means acceptance of the new version.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Beninese law. In case of dispute, first contact support (contact@azogo.africa) for an amicable solution. Failing that, the courts of Cotonou have jurisdiction, unless otherwise provided by law.
